Soooo you guys have heard me talk about shakeology and might have seen my posts on my 3 day shakeology cleanse , but I never really explained what it is !! So what is the AMAZING shake that I drink EVERY day and cannot live without !? lol well let me tell you that shakeology can do for you !!

Feel Energized -  I feel soo much better after I have my shake in the morning ! I went on vacation for 12 days and forgot my shakeology !!!!!! I could tell such a huge difference in myself !!! I didn't have nearly as much energy and didn't feel as good I a normally do , I actually got sick 3 days into my vacation !

It will Reduce Cravings- This is a big one for me!!!!! A big
problem for me was fighting my cravings !! Shakeology has definitely helped me big time ! It helps satisfy my sweet tooth because it literally tastes like a chocolate shake ! Mmmm !

Lose Weight -let me remind you , do not rely on anything to make you lose weight ! YES shakeology does help ALONG with a healthy diet and regular exercise ! So add in shakeolgy to you daily routine of clean eating and exercise and you will get results in not time!!!!

Improve Digestion and Regularity , let me just say first hand IT WORKS! Lol if you catch my drift ;)

Tastes delicious -Oh my gosh ! yes , yes , yes ! its delicious ! There are a few different flavors, my absolute FAV is chocolate! It is sooooo good ! I will make another blog with some different ways I like to make mine and a few other recipes!

This shake helps your body gently eliminate toxins more efficiently while allowing for better absorption of the essential nutrients you need. It  helps your body progressively eliminate the toxins that build up over time from eating today's highly processed foods, you will notice because the first two weeks i started drinking it I was going to the bathroom constantly and it was because it was literally getting rid of all the junk I had in my body. At the same time, whole-food ingredients deliver the essential amino acids, vitamins, and minerals your body needs to curb cravings, allowing your body to shed stored fat while the more than 20 different antioxidants and phytonutrients help reduce free radical damage that can lead to heart disease, heart attacks, high blood pressure, and stroke. Shakeology has soo many good things in it for you , I am not about to sit down and type them all !! lol BUT a lot of the ingredients can do the following :
-help build lean muscles, improve skin (i can tell a difference in my skin!) support mental clarity.
-Provides antioxidant support and promotes a healthy heart and optimal blood pressure.
-Promotes detoxification of the liver , kidneys and blood to restore health and vitality.
-Helps protect the body from stress and supports your immune system.

Food moderation

 Moderation is key guys!!!

People often think of healthy eating as an all or nothing proposition, but a key foundation for any healthy diet is seriously all about moderation. But what is moderation?? How much is a moderate amount?? That really depends on you and your overall eating habits. The goal of healthy eating is to develop a diet that you can maintain for life, not just a few weeks or months. If you plan on sustaining any weight that you lose you cannot go hardcore at the gym and eating healthy only until you reach your goal weight and then go back to all of your old habits. NO! that is not how you do it. You WILL gain the weight back!  So try to think of moderation in terms of balance. Despite what certain fad diets would have you believe, we all need a balance of carbohydrates, protein, fat, fiber, vitamins, and minerals to sustain a healthy body, totally cutting out one kind of food group is not a good idea. Why? Because you probably not going to go the rest of your life without eating any carbs. Which will lead you to gain your weight back and probably even more than you started with. From experience thats exactly what happen to me. For most of us, moderation or balance means eating less than we do now. More specifically, it means eating way less of the unhealthy stuff and more of the healthy stuff. Try not to think of certain foods as "off-limits" When you ban certain foods or food groups, it is natural to want those foods more, and then feel like a failure if you give in to temptation. If you are really craving ing something sweet, salty, or unhealthy foods, start by reducing portion sizes and not eating them as often, substituting unhealthy snacks for similar healthy snacks is a great idea !! Instead of chips with dip, try crunchy carrots and cucumber slices with a healthier version of ranch. Most likely you will find yourself craving them less or thinking of them as only occasion.Think smaller portions. When dining out, choose an appetizer or eat off of the kids menu instead of an entree, split a dish with a friend, and don't super size anything. Back in the old days there were no "super size" or "extra large" which is why the obesity problem has gotten worse as the years go by! The generation today does not realize a normal portion of something is about the size of your fist. When at home, use smaller plates, think about serving sizes in realistic terms, and start small. If you don't feel satisfied at the end of a meal, try adding more leafy green vegetables or rounding off the meal with fresh fruit also drink tons and tons of water throughout the day to help keep you full :)

Set yourself up for success !

Healthy eating is not about strict nutrition philosophies, staying unrealistically thin, or depriving yourself of the foods you love. Rather, its about feeling great, having more energy, stabilizing your mood, and keeping yourself as healthy as possible, all of which can be achieved by learning and using some nutrition basics in a way that works for you.
To set yourself up for success, think about planning a healthy diet as a number of small, manageable steps rather than one big drastic change. If you approach the changes gradually and with commitment, you will have a healthy diet sooner than you think!! Slow and steady weightloss is the way you keep it off!
Dont look to diet pills , wraps or the sensa crap! Its not easy but in due time you will gradually see changes and crave more and more!!!...thats where the addiction part comes in lol I don't think of it as a bad addiction though! Its not like alchohol or drugs. Its bettering your body inside and out! Although you do need to listen to you bodt and rest when it needs it. I have learned the hard way pushing myself  to workout with a bad knee.

Instead of being overly concerned with counting calories or measuring portion sizes, think of your diet in terms of color, variety, and freshness. I have done the whole calorie counting thing , measuring out all of my food down to the tee! While it does work, its not realistic to have all the time in the world to measure out every single drop of food we consume. At least for me it isn't lol  Focus on finding healthy foods you love and easy recipes that incorporate a few fresh ingredients. Gradually, your diet will become healthier and more delicious.
Start slow and make changes to your eating habits over time. Trying to make your diet healthy overnight isnt realistic or smart. Changing everything at once usually leads to cheating or giving up on your new eating plan.Which I have learned first hand! Yes, I have plenty of "I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!" binges...which ususally ended with me scarfing down anything in sight! Make small steps, like adding a salad (full of different color vegetables) to your diet once a day, or switching from butter to olive oil when cooking. As your small changes become habit, you can continue to add more healthy choices to your diet. You will find yourself going for an apple or a banana instead of some chips. It will become who you are and you will find yourself wanting those unhealthy foods that you once ate on a daily basis less and less, and very often if at all.
Every change you make to improve your diet matters. You don't have to be perfect and completely eliminate foods you enjoy to have a healthy diet. The long-term goal is to feel good, have more energy, and reduce the risk of cancer and disease. Don't let your missteps derail you-every healthy food choice you make counts. As long as you dont give up and keep moving foward you will be ok! DO NOT freak out if you have a burger or dont workout one day lol you wont die! As long as you get right back to business the next day.
WATER WATER WATER!
Think of water and exercise as food groups in your diet
Water. Water helps flush our systems of waste products and toxins, yet many people go through life dehydrated-causing tiredness, low energy, and headaches. Its common to mistake thirst for hunger, so staying well hydrated will also help you make healthier food choices.
EXERCISE
Find something active that you like to do and add it to your day,  rather it be taking a walk every day, playing tennis, doing a workout dvd at home or going to the gym... The benefits of lifelong exercise are abundant, and regular exercise may even motivate you to make healthy food choices a habit.

introducing myself and a little bio

Hi everyone!!!!
so my name is chelsea! I am a 21 year old stay at home mommy, wife, in-home day care provider and  emerald beach body coach!!! My interests include anything family related, staying active and getting outside as much as possible anything nutrition related. I love learning more and more as the days go on about my body , what works for it and what doesnt! Now for the main reason of my blog! lol my weightloss journey!!! ok so i have pretty much been overweight since I was about 7 years old probably! I pretty much grew up revolving my life around food. I LOVED to eat! lol My mom pretty much always gave me little debbies, ice cream, chips, soda ,candy when I wanted it. My mom did make dinner every night but many of those dinners included mexican dishes with tortillas, rice, beans or something fried and greasy. I never really noticed i was over weight until hit about 4th grade. I noticed all the skinny girls and that I didnt look like that. It bothered me but not the the extent where I would do anything about it. Of course people would make fun of me. Rather it be my own siblings or kids at school. It hurt me really bad but i was young what could I do ? I cant choose the meals my mother would make me. So once high school came along I would do "fad diets" every once in awhile. A fad diet is pretty much a diet that states if you eat this for this amount of days you will lose X amount of weight. They work, but sadly the weight would always creep back it way on me. I remember taking about 5 of my mothers trim spa pills thinking I would magically lose weight and then proceeded to stuff my face with pizza. Unfortunately the next morning I woke up the same haha. After I graduated high school I moved to Nevada with my boyfriend (who is now my husband) So my sister encouraged me to go to the gym with her and start eating healthy. I weighed in at 213 lbs the first day. I was mortified!! It had probably been a year or two since I had stepped on a scale!!! I could not believe that I was in the 200's! So a soon found myself at 191 lbs. Still over weight but feeling a lot better about myself. Of course the universe had decided I would not be skinny and I found out I was pregnant!! I literally remember thinking that I could eat whatever I wanted because I was pregnant now ! I went and got Chinese food and a big bag of chocolate covered pretzels!! YES! I ate all of it! lol I ate whatever and whenever I wanted! A lot of late night milkshakes, fast food and cereal! I ate a lot of cereal. I found myself at 240 lbs by the end of my pregnancy! I was HUGE! After I had my son I went down to 215lbs. I swore to myself I would lose the baby weight and then some. Every Monday was "the day" but many Monday's passed by and I never started. I had gained 15 lbs and was back up to 230 lbs.I was extremely unhappy, unhealthy and hated the way I looked!   March 11th was literally the day I changed my life!!  I started eating healthy and working out every day pretty much. I had no idea if what I was doing was right but I was losing weight and I LOVED it !! I broke the 200's three months later in June! I was feeling awesome, people were telling me how good I looked. I became comfortable in the 190's I guess and pretty much stopped working out every day , it was more like once and awhile or when I felt like it for about 4 months I never really completely went back to my old eating habits with a fear that I would gain all my weight back. Oddly enough I sustained by weight-loss. I got tired of looking the way I did and decided to go full force once again somewhere around the end of october. I started doing turbo jam and instantly fell in love wiith ! It was a lot of fun! Turbo jam is a workout program created by Chalene Johnson! literally like my role model! Its like a dancey , kick boxing/ martial arts kind of workout. I joined a 60 shakeology challenge and fell in love with beachbody! I dont know where I would be now if it wasnt for my awesome coach! I had honestly known her for about like almost a year through instagram before every actually connecting with her. She would always try to get me to join her challenges but I never really did. lol Then one day I decided I would give it a try! I ordered shakeology! Which I cannot live without! lol Its amazing! So here I am now typing this blog as an emerald beachbody coach and ready to totally kick A$$!! I am starting p90x on 4/29 this monday!!! My up to date weight is 172 so a 58 weight loss for me! I have such a passion for helping people reach their goals! PLEASE do not doubt yourself!!! EVER!! you can do it! I am here for support, tips, motivation ,help anything I can do in my power to help I WILL do it ! <3
